The Land Survey and Mapping Unit manages SCVWD's Benchmark Maintenance Program with a $250,000 annual operating budget allowing communities to receive the 90 possible points permitted through the National Flood Insurance Program's Community Rating System (CRS).
In addition to providing communities with credits for discounted insurance premiums, the Benchmark Maintenance Program provides dependable, accurate, and easily located vertical reference points for the needs of public and private surveyors.
