Buy a new high efficiency toilet and get a $125* rebate

Santa Clara County residents can receive up to $125* per toilet for replacing old, high water-use toilets that use 3.5 gallons per flush (gpf) or more, with a new High Efficiency Toilet from our approved toilet list.

*Rebate amount depends on the price of the toilet. Under no circumstance can the rebate amount exceed the cost of the toilet.

What are high efficiency (HET) and dual flush toilets?
High Efficiency Toilets use a minimum of 20% less water than standard 1.6 gpf toilets. In other words, any toilet that flushes at 1.28 gpf or less is considered high efficiency.

Dual Flush Toilets save water by offering a separate, low water use flush setting for liquids (between .8-1.1 gpf) in addition to the standard 1.6 gpf for solids.

Who is eligible?
Any Santa Clara County resident who wants to replace an old, 3.5 gpf (or more) toilet, with an approved high efficiency toilet is eligible. Please follow the link below to view our approved high efficiencytoilet list.

How do I apply?
To receive a rebate application, pre-approval must first be obtained. Call (877) 874-8479 for rebate pre-approval and to request a rebate application (an on-site inspection may be required to receive approval). Be sure to read the application requirements carefully and remember to include an original sales receipt with your application.

Do not apply or purchase your replacement high efficiency toilet until program participation approval has been obtained.

How long will the rebate be available?
Rebates are available for purchasing qualified toilets until funding is depleted.

How many toilets can I replace?
The limit is three high efficiency or dual flush toilets per
single-family home. Multi-family homes are limited only by the number of 3.5 gpf toilets on-site.

What can I do with my old toilet?
